SUMMARY:

Supervise staff; train and coordinate nursing activities in facility.

Maintain Inns’ standards, Rights of Residents and Ohio regulations as set forth by the Ohio Department of Health Laws and Regulations.

Participating team member with the other directors to ensure quality and excellent operations at all levels.

Has a thorough understanding of procedures and expectations of residential care facilities. Has a thorough understanding of dementia, the disease process and how it fits in the continuum of care.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following. Other duties may be assigned with or without reasonable accommodations.

Plans and organizes activities in nursing assistants’ resident care to ensure that residents’ needs are met in accordance with instructions of physician and facility policies and procedures. Reviews Individual Service Plans (ISP), etc.

Plans and organizes orientation and in-service training for unit staff members and participates in guidance and educational programs.

Follows outlined established budget for supplies.

Follows perimeters for staffing hours.

Engages in study and investigation related to improving nursing care.

Communicates with physicians, physician’s office, and families about resident problems, changes, or symptoms.

Assigns duties and coordinates nursing services.

Responsible for completing resident’s medical record upon admission.

Evaluates nursing activities to ensure resident care, staff relations, and efficiency of service.

Observes nursing care and visits residents to ensure that nursing care is carried out as directed and treatment administered in accordance with physician’s instructions.

Assists in preparation and maintenance of residents’ clinical records.

Knowledgeable of and implements all safety, universal precautions, and Company policies/procedures for the protection of residents, coworkers, and self.

Completes policy reviews and testing requirements as listed in the residential care facility rules and regulations.
